Why your eyes give you away on video calls

Notes beside your keyboard pull your eyes down. A script in a second window pulls them sideways. Either way, everyone on the call notices you are reading. The connection breaks the moment your gaze drifts off the lens.

The fix is geometry: put the words as close to the camera as possible. On a MacBook that spot is the notch; on every laptop it is the top edge of the screen. The Notch Prompter floats your script exactly there, over whatever app you are presenting in, so reading and eye contact become the same motion.

    Sign in and load your script. Paste any text or connect a Google Doc. Edits in the Doc stay in sync.

What is the Notch Prompter?
It is a small floating window that stays on top of every other app: Zoom, Teams, Meet, OBS, anything. You drag it right under your webcam (where the notch sits on a MacBook, hence the name) and read your script while looking almost straight into the lens. Your call or recording sees eye contact; you see your lines.
Does it work on Windows?
Yes. The floating window is a browser feature (Document Picture-in-Picture), so it works on Windows, Mac and Linux, anywhere you run Chrome or Edge. No app to install, nothing to configure.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Edge (and other Chromium browsers) support the always-on-top window. Safari and Firefox don't offer the feature yet. On those, the regular full-screen prompter still works normally.
Can people on my call see the teleprompter?
No. The floating window only exists on your screen. As long as you share a specific window or tab (rather than your entire screen), your audience never sees it. They just see you, looking at the camera.
How do I control the scrolling during a call?
Play and pause directly on the floating window, adjust speed and font size from the main tab, or use your phone as a wireless remote: pair it once and control everything silently from your hand while you present.
